Hariyo Vidyalaya — Green Schools — turned 32 community schools into places where children practise looking after their environment every day.
Each school formed an eco-club, planted a garden, set up composting and separated its waste. Teachers trained in a local environmental curriculum used the school grounds as a classroom, and eco-club members led planting drives in their wards.
